How to dress for Cold Water Surfing, Paddling & Kiting.

Wether you're looking to start paddling, surfing or kiting in cold water or need some reference on gear that keeps you warm here are our tips and recommendations to extend your season.

First step is to purchase a wetsuit. Now if your looking to paddle in the dead of winter we’d recomemend a 5 mm wetsuit. If its the shoulder seasons a 4-3 mm wetsuit should do the job. Grab a hold of some 5 mm neoprene booties, 3 mm gloves and a hood and your ready to hit the water! We recommend Rip Curl suits as we have always loved their price point and quality. You can usually find some deals on wetsuitwearhouse.com

Drysuits are great and we recommended them for whitewater sup or kayaking down rivers. Also some people prefer them while kiting. They do a great job of keeping you dry underneath. You could put a drysuit over your business attire and come out of the water ready to go to a professional business meeting. The only downside is they are expensive. If you were to purchase a drysuit we’d highly recommend Kokatat. They make the best apparel and gear for paddling in the World. https://kokatat.com
